We appreciate, and are inspired by the intrisique beauty these vintage items already possess. By taking a creative approach, we are able to give these classic designs a more modern look and a second life.
Below are a few of our recent projects from concept to completion.
We started with a hot water heater from the early 1900's which was manufactured by the Troop company here in Pittsburgh. We started by disassembling everything and removing all inner components.
After a good cleaning and top coat to seal the amazing patina, we then begin to reassemble our vision. We added two acrylic shelves and some colored lighting which would help accent its contents.
We buffed out some of the original copper and brass which really showed well against the darker black cast iron and rust finish.. Finally we topped it off with a custom built steel clad table top.
When we found this gem, it was missing both of its original clamps, had a few generic repairs, and several spots of rot. Fortunately, we were able to see it still had a lot of life left in it, which allowed us to create this one of a kind showpiece. We cleaned up all the rot and applied some vintage patinaed copper sheeting and epoxy to provide a water proof shelf. We finished it off with wine bottle storage, glass racks and a quick top coat.
We started with a pair of heavy duty doors direct from India. These doors included an amazing patina from their hundred plus years of service. They also included very primitive locking hardware and chains which were all kept intact. Due to the heavy hardware and slight warping we decided to add adjustable standoffs and top it with 1/2" thick tempered glass.
The base was constructed of reclaimed barn wood, and we were able to attach two vintage dynamite cases to serve as drawers.
This wine bar was built from the bottom up using reclaimed barn beams and a custom patinaed metal clad top. This unique conversation piece is certain to be the focal point of any room.
